S/V Wine Down and Crew

Captain Steve has been sailing since the age of 17. He started racing Hobie catamarans and moved on to sailing larger boats. He has sailed extensively throughout the gulf coast from Louisiana to the Florida panhandle, Key West and all points in between. His love of boats and sailing is infectious and he takes great pleasure in sharing this experience with all who come aboard! He holds a Merchant Mariners Captain’s License from the United States Coast Guard.
Melissa, aka The Admiral, happens to be married to the captain! She has boated and enjoyed the gulf coast all her life. Her passion now for sailing and experiencing the beautiful Emerald Coast on Wine Down comes across on the charters and she takes great pleasure in sharing her knowledge of the local area and the sailing/boating experience.
First Mate Ricky has grown up fishing and hunting on the gulf coast and loves talking to guests about his experiences and sharing fishing tips. He’s super attentive to guest needs at all times on charter.
First Mate Joe served our country for many years in the United States Air Force and we’re lucky to have him as crew. He’s an excellent yachtsman and loves talking about sailing with guests. Ask him what his job was in the Air Force!
S/V (Sailing Vessel) Wine Down is a 2003 Catalina 36 sailboat. She has two cabins, galley, head and can accommodate up to 6 guests on charter. Her smooth sea motion and generous cockpit make sailing Pensacola Bay superbly comfortable and relaxing. Captain Steve invites all to assist in the sailing of her while underway or relax in her shaded cockpit area and enjoy the sites! Sun bathing on the bow deck is a favorite as well and the best place to catch site of dolphins swimming alongside!
Wine Down is beautifully appointed below decks and offers safety and convenience for those rare occasions when guests have to hang out inside due to one of our Florida pop-up rain showers. Just flick on the flat screen TV or get a card game started until the sun comes out again!
The bathroom (known as a head on a boat) is always spotless and features an electric toilet – no manual pumping like many charter boats out there.
We sail from historic Bayou Chico in Pensacola out of Day Break Marina – Address: 811 South R Street Pensacola, FL 32501
